Al Clogston, wedding pianist and jazz piano tutor

Welcome

Thanks for visiting my website.

I’m a professional New York pianist, teacher, and vocal arranger now living and playing in London, Surrey and vicinity. I specialize in jazz and American popular standards from the twenties through the seventies (sorry, not much after that unless previously requested).

I’ve been playing professionally since Jimmy Carter was president (remember him?) Since then I’ve played at just about every kind of event in venues as far ranging as Grand Central Station and the All England Lawn Tennis Club. At one point I played 96 weddings in three days, three consecutive Valentines Days that is, on the 80th floor of the Empire State Building. (I’m not sure, but there might be some kind of a record there.)

I am currently the resident pianist on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Bayee Village Restaurant in Wimbledon. If you’re in the neighbourhood please stop by and say hello.

If you’re looking for a pianist for a wedding, party, restaurant, club, private or corporate function I should be able help you out.

If no piano is available I can provide my own digital stage piano and sound system. With them I can play realistic piano sounds or, if more appropriate, I can (electronically speaking) split my keyboard in three to sound like a jazz trio.

While you’re here please visit my repertoire, teaching, arranging and theatre pages.

All the best,
Al Clogston
